I would like to share a few more fun memories from working with Tim. Just like in his personal life, he was great at many things at work, and he really did wear all the hats. He was our Rental Manager at Nationwide Boiler…..but he was also the paper police, the lunch bunch patrol, a therapist to many of us, and so much more. No matter what role he took on, he took his job seriously and was very good at it!
One thing that always made me laugh (still does) was how he would “complain” about everyone being loud or about all the laughter in the office but he himself would come over and join in - he had fomo! I will always miss seeing him walk into my work area wanting to get in on the conversations that were going on.
Tim always listened to my problems and vent about my cat or what was going in my life. We bonded over K-pop and he would always hear me fan girl over BTS. He shared with me how his daughters were into kpop and we’d talk about when BTS was coming back from the military or about different girl groups he’d heard of. Sometimes he would even bring up K-pop himselfnand you could tell he genuinely enjoyed the conversations. I think it made him happy to talk about something that meant so much to his daughters.
Tim wasn’t someone who brought his private life to the public, but if you got to know him, you could see how he cared about the people in his life. I hope it brings Michelle, Fiona, and Alyse some comfort knowing that he carried his love for them with him everywhere he went. ( I hit post a little too early on the last memory)

Though it's only been 3 years at NBI, the impact Tim left on me is unforgettable. I remember being intimidated and scared to approach Tim in my first few months, taking his role as 'office grump' to the core. Little did I know what a funny, inquisitive, and gentle soul lay beneath that persona.
Anyone who knew Tim, however briefly, could tell you about his sense of unmatched humor. His witty come backs and infectious laughter always left a warm aura in the room, especially his banter with Michael. You could be in any space upstairs, talking to anyone, and easily rope Tim in on the conversation for his electric responses; much to his chagrin. You would always find people from all parts of the office taking a seat by Tim's cubicle (one where he added a parking meter) and chat about all manner of things. During breaks, a small group would culminate outside of his cubicle and light up the room with laughter; Tim could light up any room just with his presence.
Tim's soul was caring and thoughtful to all who welcomed it. One of my favorite things to hear was Michael and Tim's banter across their cubicles. I love to make little post it notes drawings for people in the office and ended up capturing these wholesome moments. They both loved it, Michael noting I was generous in the amount of hair I gave Tim, that Michael printed a larger version and posted it outside their shared wall; I was very flattered. Even during a "prank," a few people put cute little post its of drawings and messages on his monitor's while he was out of office on business. I didn't know what to write, so I made a doodle of some South Park characters. When he returned, he kept my picture on his file cabinet doors, a meaningful act that showed how kind of a soul Tim carried.
To say he will be missed is an understatement, but to know I got to experience Tim in my life is a true blessing. The deepest condolences and love to his family and close friends. The footprints he left on our hearts and souls will never wash away. Thank you, Tim; It's been an honor.

I first ran into Tim—who became “Judd” to all his Maritime friends—quite literally on the soccer field as high school freshman at rival schools.
Judd was what you’d call sneaky athletic. His thick glasses and lean frame hid his athletic ability well, and most cadets walking to and from the Fort never saw that side of him since he never joined any organized teams. But if you ever had the chance to play pickup basketball with him, you figured it out quickly—he could absolutely dominate a game. I’ve often thought he could have played for the Maritime men’s team if he’d worn contact lenses. He’d pause at half court, squint just long enough to get his bearings, and then make his move—usually finishing with a deadly outside shot. That was classic Judd: unassuming, determined, and quietly impressive. It was also his pitching that helped carry us to the Hatchball Championship aboard the TSES Empire State in the summer of 1988.
A few of us on A3 (Maritime Company A, Floor 3) got to know Judd especially well when he roomed with Zor (Tom Zarnock) for a year. The two Navy ROTC guys, when out of uniform, seemed perpetually challenged to find clothes that actually matched. Judd’s version of “going out” attire was simple—a Boston baseball cap and a sweatshirt that wasn’t stained—and that suited him just fine.
I always enjoyed his company, especially talking sports—baseball in particular. I probably liked it even more because I could always remind him that my Mets beat his Red Sox in ’86. Still, his depth of sports knowledge easily surpassed mine. Some of my favorite memories were watching him and his future brother-in-law, Jim, relentlessly talk trash to each other. They were great friends long before they became family, and I’m so glad they both found the loves of their lives. I’m sure those exchanges brought years of laughter to everyone around them.
All of us on A3 were deeply saddened to learn of Judd’s passing. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family.
No matter how busy he was, Tim would take time away to always help me and others when needed and that speaks volume to his character. I will miss talking to him, hearing his laugh, and engaging in his wonderful sense of humor. I am grateful to have known him and his absence is deeply felt.
